If so, an opportunity to work with an integrated health care system based in east central Ohio is looking for someone to join their team.
The system is a not-for-profit and has over 300 physicians and multiple outpatient care centers throughout the area.
The system is the largest provider in a six county region and a primary referral center.
It offers a higher level of service than what is typically found in a community of its size including open-heart surgery, trauma care, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit, neurosurgery and
comprehensive cancer services.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the direct management of all accounting and financial functions within the system.  
Includes oversight of monthly close, managing financials for accounts payable, accounts receivable and reimbursements/payments submitted through check requests.  
Responsible for tax filings and ensuring audit procedures are in place ensuring integrity of financial information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Communicates with CFO & Corporate Controller the results of the financial statements and any possible problems or concerns that may require immediate attention.
Develops accounting processes/procedures to ensure safeguarding of healthcare system assets.
Oversees the preparation, maintenance, and overall integrity of the financial statement reporting for hospital operations.
Effectively communicates with other financial departments (i.e., Purchasing, Corporate Consulting, Payroll) the need for data to ensure accurate financial statements.
Preparation of work papers supporting the annual tax return, and coordinate the preparation of annual tax return.
Reviews and ensure accuracy of journal entries to reflect monthly activity.
Ensures proper and accurate preparation of monthly and year end financial statements, including annual revenues, transfers and expenses.
Works closely with external auditors and with the human resources department for audit of financial statements, pension plan and qualified retirement plans sponsored by the organization.
Develops, documents, implements and maintains adequate and effective internal controls.
Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Identifies and manages outside accounting vendor and banking relationships.
Directly oversees accounting and finance staff, provides mentoring and training, and manages allocation of work.  
Ensures policy compliance by staff and addresses performance and behavioral issues as necessary.  Completes annual performance evaluations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Requires current CPA.
Minimum seven (7) years of health care related accounting experience including management experience.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).
Has solid understanding of state and federal financial regulations.
Understands automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
Proficient in managing multiple tasks and multiple systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Info:
Must have healthcare experience.
Position reports to the Corporate Controller.
Accounting department comprised of 17 personnel (Sr Staff Accountants, Financial Analyst, Accounting Associates, etc.)
The person would be located in free-standing building across the street from the Hospital.


The pay depends on experience but the range is between 77K-106K plus a great benefit package and relocation is offered.
